PWA TENERIFE

PWA TENERIFE

The third and final stop on the professional windsurfing circuit in the Canary Islands, held in El Médano, Tenerife, saw French sailor Pierre Mortefon secure another Super X world championship (the fourth of his career) and Marc Paré and Sarah-Quita Offringa win in the men's and women's wave competitions respectively. It was Offringa's first championship in Tenerife (one of the few spots where he hadn't yet finished first), and Paré's second consecutive crown in a spot, El Médano, that suits him perfectly. Also shining on the waves of Tenerife were Alexia Kiefer Quintana (second in the women's competition) and our representatives in the wave competition: Víctor Fernández, Marino Gil, Liam Dunkerbeck and Miguel Chapuis, all of whom finished in the select group of the top 10 in the Canary Islands competition. After the circuit's run through the Fortunate Islands and with two stops remaining in the wave discipline (Sylt and Maui), the battle for the world crown is heated and highly competitive.
Next stop: Sylt, Germany (September 26 – October 5).
